Job description
Purpose : Achieving the financial, strategic and other goals set for the cluster management incompliance with the DB Group specifications and in consideration of legal requirements aswell as tax-related specifications with responsibility shared with all members of the clustermanagement. Main Tasks; Accountable. Decisions on measures in cluster management up to the cluster thresholds according toSOP GE01 Advising, supporting, supervising the legal entity management Steering and transformation of the function according to global guideline, strategy andstandards Supports cluster finance roadmaps derived from the global strategy in close alignmentwith the regional CFO and the legal entity management
Financial planning & budgeting - Provide forecasting, estimates and supporting the strategic direction for the Cluster Meklong /internal business unit /function and developing these into short term plans(budget, forecasts) - For the cluster economic performance and target achievement and for theachievement of the cluster performance targets
Business controlling - Drive financial and operational performance and initiate corrective measures toachieve profitability targets, manage cost modelling process and profitabilityanalysis (by product, customer, lane, etc.) and balance sheet and cash flowimprovements for the Cluster
Project controlling / investment review - Within the Cluster, support business in evaluating business proposals with a viewto maximizing returns whilst minimizing risk, including assessment of capitalinvestment and divestment projects and involvement in acquisition proposals
Financial control - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and DB Group policies andmanage funding and liquidity requirements with the support of the DB Grouptreasury functions in the Cluster
Financial performance analysis and reporting - Conduct performance reporting as the basis of the required assessment ofmeasures and projects and of the provision of information regarding themanagement of the [Cluster Meklong] and relevant to decision making, recommendationswhere appropriate - Hold periodic reviews with managers / staff
Accounting - Oversee delivery of all accounting activities for the Cluster Finance and Logistics Board DivisionDB Schenker Business UnitFunction Description Page 2 of 2
Tax management and planning - Support the legal entity management in reaching an optimal tax position for thebusiness in conjunction with DB corporate tax and utilising internal or external taxexpertise within the cluster
Commercial support - Support BUs in commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers with particularreference to pricing, payment terms, liability cover, termination costs and credit risk
KonTraG, BilMoG, Risk reporting and ICS - Ensure information flow and reporting for the early identification of corporatelythreatening risks or developments according to relevant legal requirements
Procurement and Real Estate - Ensure Procurement and management of categories handled within the Clusteraccording to global Procurement strategy and regulations - Secure optimal provision of Real Estate and services (including FacilityManagement) according to global Procurement strategy and regulations within theCluster
Fundamental issues - Ensure information of the [Cluster ] management regarding all issues offundamental importance in the area of responsibility
Representation - External and internal representation of cluster management regarding financialissues/affairs to all business partners, authorities and third parties of all kinds
Legal, Risk Management and Claims - Support legal entity management in handling of contract risk, insurance and claimsmatters through appropriate legal counseling Management including replacements and nominations of local Finance/ Controllingmanagers in alignment with legal entity management Consulted - Supports in development of regional and global DB Schenker Finance strategy - Supports cluster business development activities based on respective DB Schenkerstrategies Informed - All important financial issues/risks, legal affairs and business development activities of theorganizational units of the cluster
Special Features CFO Cluster Germany and Switzerland:- Information flow according to the Corporate Sector Supervision and TransparencyAct and assure adherence of the Cluster Meklong to Internal Control Standards (ICS)• Bachelor degree of Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA designation is an advantage.• Minimum 15+ years of relevant working experience in MNC.• Good tax knowledge of Revenue Code.
