The Component Test Development and Electrical Integration is a part of Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG), Recording Head Technology, that helps provide test solutions and design learnings at the transducer level to the Recording Head Design teams. We work closely with Test Developers and Recording Head designers in Minnesota USA and Springtown UK.
About the role - you will:
• Apply hands-on subject matter expertise in the characterization and analysis of new recording head experimental verification
• Work with Test Development and R&D Operation teams to develop, qualify, and deploy test applications and test tools (Hardware/Software) for design feedback and test process control
• Work with Design and R&D Operation teams to conduct the magnetic recording experiments to characterize performance and reliability, perform data analysis of the expected performance in comparison with the results and present results to Recording Head Design teams
• Conceive and develop solutions to R&D Operation teams through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices, and procedures
• Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Provide guidance and mentoring to technical team members, and help achieve maximum potential

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
Your experience includes:
• Master’s degree or PhD in the Engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience
• Computer programming languages, automated data collection and processing, statistical analysis of large datasets. An ability to use Machine Learning, Predictive Model, and Data Visualization would be an advantage
• Skilled in the use of electronic equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
• Laser and optical system knowledge is preferable
